Our Beliefs
We believe in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God: We believe God eternally exists in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father is the Creator and Ruler of all things. God is eternal, all-powerful, all knowing and ever present. He is perfect in love, justice and holiness, and worthy of all glory, honor and praise. Genesis 1:1, Genesis 2:7, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus: We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, voluntarily died on the cross for our sins, and was bodily raised from the dead. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, acting as an intermediary on our behalf. One day Jesus will return to earth to usher in the new heavens and the new earth. Isaiah 7:14, John 1:1, John 1:14, Philippians 2:5-8, 1 Peter 3:18
Holy Spirit: We believe that God the Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the scriptures. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He enables Christians to understand the truth. He dwells in the hearts of every Christian from the moment of salvation. He bestows spiritual gifts on believers for the purpose of serving His Church. He comforts and intercedes for believers. He enlightens and empowers us to a fruitful Chirstian life.
Acts 2:38, Romans 8:26-27
We believe in the Bible - God’s Word.
The Bible: We believe the Bible is the Inspired Word of God, the written record of His supernatural revelation of Himself to man, without error, absolute in its authority, final in its content. We believe that the Bible is the final authority for all matters of faith, truth, morality, and Christian living. We believe the Bible teaches that God is the Creator and Sustainer of human life; that God creates each person in His image; and that life is therefore sacred, from conception to natural death. We believe the Bible teaches that God creates each person as male or female; that these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the "image of God" in humankind; and that each person's biological gender is an intrinsic, immutable aspect of his or her nature and identity. We believe the Bible teaches that God established marriage in the beginning as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman; that He has reserved sexual intimacy as an expression of love and commitment between married couples; and that any intimate expression of sexuality outside of Biblical marriage is sin. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21
We believe in the Gospel - the Good News of Salvation
Salvation: We believe that man, created by God, willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and subject to eternal separation from God. Humanity’s only hope to be rescued is through Jesus Christ. We believe that salvation comes by putting our belief and trust in Jesus, repenting of sins, confessing our faith and being baptized into Him by immersion in water. Baptism is the threshold moment of salvation and the final response a sinner takes to become a Christian in obedience to the gospel commands. We believe the results of salvation involve the forgiveness and deliverance from sin, the gift of the Holy Spirit and eternal life. As a new creation in Christ we deny ourselves daily, not seeking approval by how well we keep the commandments of God, but by continually putting our faith in what Jesus accomplished in His life, death and resurrection. With love for Christ as our motivation, our response to the gift of salvation is to offer ourselves as slaves to righteousness which leads to holiness. Even though now we are truly saved, if we do not continue to hold onto Jesus with a living faith, we will be truly lost. We are saved by grace through faith, in baptism, apart from works of law, for good works. John 14:6, John 3:16-17, Romans 10:9-10, 2 Peter 3:9, Colossians 2:12, Acts 2:38, Romans 6, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, John 15:5-8
We believe in the Church - God’s redeemed people.
The Church: We believe the Church is the body of Christ-followers under the authority of Christ. We believe the mission of the Church is to reach the spiritually lost for Jesus Christ, to teach them about Christ. The church is called to love one another, bear with one another and forgive one another. To seek unity, agreement and peace with one another. To bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another. To spur one another on to love and good deeds. To use our natural abilities and spiritual gifts to serve one another. To meet together regularly for fellowship, worship, teaching and the Lord’s Supper. To pursue personal holiness and obedience to God’s Word. To strive together to fulfill the Great Commission. Acts 2:42-47, John 13:35, Matthew 28:18-20
