4:19 Discipleship groups
A Disciple – someone who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and is committed to the mission of Jesus (Matt. 4:19).
Disciple making – is entering into relationships to intentionally help people follow Jesus, be changed by Jesus, and join the mission of Jesus (Matt. 28:18-20).
Disciple maker – a disciple of Jesus who enters into relationships with people to intentionally help them follow Jesus, be changed by Jesus, and join the mission of Jesus.
Our goal in 4:19 Discipleship Groups is simple yet profound: to become disciples who make disciples. Together, we encourage one another to live out three core commitments—following Jesus, being transformed by Him, and joining Him in His mission.
We are intentional and relational as we grow in fellowship with one another and, most importantly, in our personal relationship with Jesus. Following His example of discipleship and the model of the early church, we anchor ourselves in Acts 2:42:
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."
Keeping things simple, we commit to:
• Praying with and for one another
• Building authentic relationships and having fellowship within our groups
• Studying God’s Word together
• Living out discipleship the way Jesus did
